Paper Leak: Minister Rules Out Cbi Probe, Says Daily Monitoring On | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Parliamentary affairs minister Shanti Dhariwal ruled out a CBI inquiry into the paper leak case claiming that “speedy investigation is being done besides day-to-day monitoring.”
He was making a statement in the assembly on the status of the investigation into the leaks after a heated discussion on Tuesday.
“What will happen if this matter is given to the CBI? The investigation will continue for 8 years and all the documents will be taken by the agency. The recruitment examinations will be held up for 15 years. The future of students will be spoiled,” he said.
On the doubt of BJP leaders over SOG investigation, he said the high court in the REET-2020 paper leak case on an ABVP petition expressed its satisfaction over SOG investigation and the case is still open and anybody could approach the court if they have proof of any cover-up.
He said from 2019 to 2022, 15 cases were registered and 281 persons arrested. On the other hand, 19 such cases were registered from 2014 to 2018, in which 241 persons were arrested. He accused the BJP of not being serious about paper leaks during their time. He claimed that culprits will be given the strictest punishment. On the provision of designated courts for the trial of paper leak cases, he said any court where such cases are registered would be treated as designated courts.
He assured that “it is our commitment that the future of the students should not be spoiled, so the recruitment will be done after conducting the examination.”
On BJP’s charge of demolishing the building where the coaching institute of one of the accused functioned on rent, he said the JDA had earlier issued a notice to the land owner for encroachment.
Against this, the land owner appealed in court, but it ordered demolition of the building. Speaker C P Joshi allowed a discussion on the issue in the House after a number of MLAs served notice for an adjournment motion on the matter.
