Partially Cloudy Sky In State, But Mercury Soars | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Partially cloudy sky was witnessed at many places in the state while some places witnessed rainfall on Saturday. However, mercury continued to take an upward swing. The Met office stated that in the coming days mercury will continue to rise and no further rainfall is going to take place in the state from Monday.
Banswara remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees was recorded, the Met report said.
Attributing the rise in temperature to active northerly winds and vanishing of anti-cyclonic circulation and western disturbances, Jaipur Met office stated that the mercury will take an upward swing in the coming days.
The Met office further stated that there is negligible possibility of rainfall in the coming days across the state.
People in Jaipur woke up to a comparatively warmer morning as a minimum temperature of 20.7 degrees was recorded.
It was followed by a cloudy afternoon logging a maximum temperature of 33.8 degrees. No rainfall was witnessed in city. On Sunday too, partially cloudy sky would be witnessed but no rainfall activity is expected in Jaipur.
The Met office further stated that there is no further warning of rainfall, lightning or hailstorm in the state for the coming week.
“Also in the next fortnight of this month temperatures will start rising. By April 20 onwards many places are likely to record maximum temperatures at or above 40 degrees,” said an officer with the Jaipur Met office.
Since March, the state has witnessed seven spells of hailstorm, rainfall and lightning have caused damage to the crops.
The Met office, however, stated that from next week no abrupt weather conditions will be witnessed as the mercury will continue to take an upward swing.
In its forecast, the Jaipur Met office said that mild showers are expected at a few isolated places in Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota and Jodhpur divisions of the state.
