Farmers unions in Rohtak demanded that the Haryana government fulfill their key demands, such as a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP), if they want to secure farmers’ votes in upcoming elections. The unions also called for the government to lift the ban on paddy export, roll back amendments to the 2013 land acquisition Act, and make changes to the Pradhan Mantri crop insurance scheme. They also want the government to consider single farms as a unit, release pending tube-well connections, and revoke the ban on older tractors in the NCR.
BJP wants to deprive farmers of MSP
Former chief minister and leader of opposition in Haryana assembly, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, accused the BJP-JJP government of deliberately delaying the procurement of paddy in order to deprive farmers of the minimum support price (MSP). Hooda claimed that the government was failing to provide MSP to farmers, resulting in paddy being sold below MSP in one part of Haryana, and bajra selling below MSP in another. He also criticized the government for not providing compensation to flood-affected farmers and creating bureaucratic obstacles for them.

The leader of the opposition in Haryana, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, criticized the BJP-JJP government for its failure in providing MSP and compensation to farmers. He stated that farmers were being forced to sell their crops below MSP due to government delays in procurement. Hooda also accused the government of not giving compensation to flood-affected farmers and claimed that insurance companies were prioritizing their own profits over helping farmers.
