People Claim Red Tape Slowing Down Process | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Despite the government’s claims about the aims and efficacy of the ‘Prashasan Shahron Ke Sang’ campaign, many residents of the city who had applied on the first day were left unhappy. They said that despite making several rounds to the corporation offices, they have to return disappointed and feel this campaign may not be of much use.
“I have been coming to the JMC-Greater office for the past ten months now to get the lease deed for my land near Imli Phatak area, but every time I am sent back saying one or the other document is missing. The officials never respond, and most of the times they say the file cannot be found. How many times can a person come despite having all documents in place? They government has started such campaigns, but it is the same officials who are dealing with our files. So their attitude remains the same,” said Jagdish Narayan Meena, who visited the camp at JMC-Greater office on Friday.
Shanti Bai, 66, who has applied for a deed for her house near Tonk Phatak area, narrated a similar experience. “I have been coming here with my husband for the past seven months. We had first applied in December 2021, and since then the officials point at some new fault with the papers every time we visit. Why can’t they check in one go and inform us so that we can prepare accordingly?” she asked.
Dhanraj Singh Lodhiya, who applied for deed for his relative’s house in Murlipura zone said, “The officials here rarely respond to the common people. We even used political approach and got our file out of the record room, but still we have no clue when we will receive the patta. We come to the office every few weeks and seek an update, but we are told every time that our file cannot be found or some other excuse is given.”
