BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh has been awarded as the Best Wildlife & Eco Tourism state in 7th edition of International Tourism Expo and Conclave held in Delhi on Friday night.
The awards were presented by Sheo Shekhar Shukla , the principal secretary of the department of tourism, who was also the chief guest of the function.
Madhya Pradesh also bagged award for the best state for tourism marketing campaign.
“Madhya Pradesh is blessed with rich wildlife and the forest cover spreads over 77,700 sq km. It has numerous wildlife hotspots with 11 national parks and 24 wildlife sanctuaries,” a spokesperson of the department said.
For active promotion of the state tourism, he said, the state has organised various promotional events like Orchha festival, Mandu Utsav and Jal Mahotsav among others. Campaigns like ‘Buffer Me Safar’ and ‘Monsoon Magic’ also attracted people towards MP. TNN
