Jaipur: To ensure that pesticide sellers do not supply wrong fertilizers to farmers, the agriculture department has initiated a certificate course for them. As per the Central government, pesticide sellers, who do not possess the prescribed educational qualification will have to compulsorily complete a 12-week certificate course at the Plant Institute by December 31, 2023 to continue the business.
In its absence, their license will not be considered valid. As per the department, if one has acquired the prescribed educational qualification, it is necessary to add it to the seller’s pesticide license before December 31. Joint director, agriculture, Atish Kumar Sharma, said that some pesticide sellers give wrong medicines to farmers because they do not have qualifications. TNN
