Pfi Suspects: Nia Team Raids Pfi Suspects’ Homes In Tonk, Baran Dists | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday conducted raids in Tonk and Baran districts at the homes of two men suspected to have links with the banned Popular Front of India (PFI).
Although no arrests were made, the team interrogated the suspects and their family members and also seized a computer and other items, police said.
Circle inspector, Baran, Rakesh Khatana said, “The team from NIA reached Baran on Tuesday night. We provided logistical support to the team, which went out for raids early in the morning. The NIA team confiscated suspicious items including a computer and other things.”
In Tonk district, the NIA team conducted a raid at the residence of the suspect, a 35-year-old married man, in Bada Kua area, sources said. The raid lasted for about three-and-a-half hours and the suspect and his family members were interrogated. The NIA team arrived at the Kotwali police station in Tonk at around 5am on Wednesday, sources said.

The PFI was banned by the government in September 2022 for alleged terror activities.

The NIA, in connection with a case related to the banned PFI, waited outside the residence of Abdul Wahid Shaikh, who was previously accused in the 7/11 Mumbai train blasts case, for over six hours. Shaikh refused to open the door until the NIA presented a search warrant. He finally opened the door after his lawyer and local activists arrived. The NIA team then entered Shaikh’s residence to conduct their investigation. Shaikh had shared a video message alleging that the police had broken his door and damaged his CCTV camera.
