Pilot’s Associate Dudi Ditches Him, Holds Farmers’ Meet With Gehlot | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: A major change in political equations has become evident with Sachin Pilot not being invited to the huge kisan sammelan (farmers’ meet) organised by Congress leader Rameshwar Dudi on Wednesday at Jasrasar near Nokha in Bikaner district. CM Ashok Gehlot, AICC’s state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra, former Haryana CM Bhupinder Hooda, and several ministers and Congress MLAs were in attendance, but Pilot was not even invited, according to sources.
Dudi is a former leader of opposition in the state assembly and the current chairman of Rajasthan’s agro-industries development board. More significantly, he was with Pilot until recently. The seeming fact that he has deserted Pilot is sure sign of Pilot’s growing isolation ever since he sat on a day-long fast to protest against the Gehlot government.
Dudi, a Jat leader who coveted the CM’s post, suffered a setback when he lost the 2018 assembly elections from the Nokha seat in Bikaner. After this, Dudi turned against Gehlot. He contested the Rajasthan Cricket Association elections against the CM’s son, Vaibhav Gehlot, in October 2019. After the victory of Vaibhav Gehlot in the election, Dudi called Gehlot ‘Dhritarashtra’. A prolonged spat between Gehlot and Dudi followed, but tension between the two eased in the year 2021, when Dudi was appointed as chairman of the agro-industries development board.
Most of the leaders of the Gehlot camp gathered to take part in Dudi’s kisan sammelan Due to the CM’s presence, many Congress leaders took part in large numbers.
