Police: Neighbour Rapes Minor In Her House In Murlipura, Flees | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: A neighbour raped a 16-year-old girl after barging into her house under the Murlipura police station area on Saturday.
The incident came to light when the girl cried for help. The family rushed to her help, but the accused had fled by then.
The police said that the girl’s parents filed an FIR against the accused, who is currently on the run, on Sunday. The family alleged that the accused raped the girl and threatened to harm her if she spoke about it.
The parents said that the accused had been sexually abusing their daughter for a very long time.
Acting on the family’s complaint, the police have booked the accused under IPC Section 376 (rape), and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police said that they were searching for the suspect who lives in a nearby rented room.
The police stated that the accused is a 21-year-old man who lives in a rented room adjacent to the one where the girl resides. An officer said, “There are several small rooms, each approximately 10 feet long, which are rented out to labourers working in factories around the VKI area.”
The police stated that initially, the girl declined to leave with her parents, so she was placed under the care of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
“We are making efforts to persuade her to give her consent for medical examination and to provide her statements,” the officer stated.
(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
