Polio Drops: Polio Vaccination Drive: 87L Children to Get Polio Drops on Sunday in Jaipur | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Under the Sub-National Immunization Day (SNID), 86.91 lakh children under five years will be given polio drops on December 10.
Since polio cases are being reported from Pakistan, Rajasthan is on alert and ensuring that children should get polio drops. The health department is taking steps to maintain community immunity through high quality national and sub-national polio rounds each year.
“In Pakistan, four cases and in Afghanistan six cases have been reported in 2023. Since migration happens from these countries, we are taking measures to vaccinate children in the state on priority as a preventive measure,” said Dr Raghuraj Singh, project director (vaccination), health department.
In the state, 23 districts have been identified which are vulnerable. Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Churu, Dausa, Dungarpur, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Jhalawar, Nagaur, Tonk, Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar, Jaipur, Bundi, Sikar, Banswara, Alwar, Barmer, Bharatpur, Udaipur, Sirohi and Jodhpur have been identified for polio vaccination.
The health department has formed 66,745 teams which will administer polio drops to children. The health department will set up 42,320 booths for administering polio drop to the children. In the state, the health department is targeting 86.91 lakh children to provide them polio drops.
The health department has asked officials to make preparations for polio vaccination. The vaccination campaign has been planned as per the old 33 districts.
