Polls: Polls Now Over, City Roads To Be Refurbished | Jaipur News

Jaipur: With polls got over in Jaipur and officials of Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) are free from election duties, the civic body would start refurbishing a number of city roads from next week.
Officials said that these works were supposed to get over by Diwali. But this year it got delayed as several JDA officials got engaged in poll duties.“We had drawn a list of roads and a few interior roads those were scheduled to be refurbishedthis year before Diwali.However, still around 20 main roads and a few interior roads are left to be refurbished. We are going to initiate the work from next week as complete it by end of this year,” said a JDA official.

Digging up new concrete roads in Mangaluru has become routine, with MG Road being the latest addition. The road has been dug up for laying underground cables by Mescom, causing traffic snarls. City roads deadly for pedestrians: Data
A report by the ministry of road transport and highways reveals that a significant number of road accident victims in Ludhiana are pedestrians. In 2022, 115 pedestrians died out of a total of 364 deaths in road accidents. This accounts for 23.9% of the total fatalities. Ludhiana has the highest number of pedestrian deaths in the region, surpassing Chandigarh. The city also recorded 16 cyclist deaths in 2022. A road safety expert, Kamaljit Soi, highlighted the lack of infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists in Ludhiana.
