3 Teenagers Drown In Pond In Gangapur City District | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Three teenagers drowned in a village pond situated at Khirkhadi village under Todabhim police station area of Gangapur City district on Sunday. The trio had gone near the pond for bathing buffalos when one boy slipped into the pond. The other two boys also drowned in a bid to save him.
According to the police, the incident took place at 10am when a teenager had gone to bathe a buffalo in the pond. “Suddenly, the teenager identified as Rinku Bairwa (16) slipped into the pond and screamed for help. Rinku was a Class XII student. Spotting him, two teenagers who had gone to a temple situated near the pond, also jumped into the pond and drowned. The were identified as Yogesh (15) and Manoj (16),” said Brijesh Kumar Meena, in-charge, Todabhim police station area of Karauli while talking to TOI.
“It appears that none of the boys knew swimming. The sludge and mud in the pond did not allow them to make their way out of the water,” Meena added.
He added that some devotees at the temple intimated the police control room. A police team along with divers rushed to the spot and fished out the three bodies.
