Private Hospital Compounder Kidnapped, Assaulted & Released After Ransom Payment | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: A 49-year-old private hospital compounder was kidnapped last night, assaulted, and held for ransom in Chauhatan town of Barmer district.

The victim, identified as Shamsundar Hadhecha, hailing from Chitalwana in Jalore district, currently residing in Chauhatan, was later released after a ransom of Rs 4 lakh was paid to the kidnappers. The police have launched an investigation and are actively searching for the culprits.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 7:30pm on Thursday when Hadhecha was approached by Roognath Singh, a resident of Dheerasar, claiming that his uncle was unwell. Falling prey to the ruse, Hadhecha accompanied Roognath in his Scorpio vehicle, along with another boy. However, the situation took a dark turn when, at Netrad village Fanta, three unknown individuals signaled Roognath, whom he seemed to know. At this point, the kidnappers restrained Hadhecha, tying his hands and legs, and stuffing cloth into his mouth before robbing him of his mobile phone and purse.

The victim was then taken to a remote location where he endured physical assault at the hands of five assailants. They demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh, threatening to set him on fire with petrol if their demands were not met. Terrified for his life, Hadhecha contacted Sohanlal, a known acquaintance from a medical store, and arranged to pay Rs 4 lakh as instructed by the kidnappers.
The police were informed of the incident at around 1am and promptly rushed to the scene. After registering an FIR against seven accused, including three identified individuals, the authorities initiated a thorough investigation. It was revealed during the inquiry that the motive behind the kidnapping might be linked to the victim’s private love affair with a relative of Roognath Singh, one of the kidnappers.
