Private Hospitals: Private Hospitals Halt Health Schemes in Jaipur | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The in the state has left many beneficiaries of government oriented health schemes in trouble as private hospitals stop accepting them.
The private hospitals are of the opinion that there is uncertainty about which political party is likely to form the government this time and might lead to halt of the schemes both Chiranjeevi and RGHS (Rajasthan Government Health Scheme).
“There is an apprehension among hospital owners whether the scheme will continue or not. If the government changes and a new political party comes in power and stops the scheme then who will clear our bills. Already crores of money of private hospitals are pending from the government. There is lot of corruption related to the schemes among government and insurance companies. Time will tell whether the private hospitals would prefer to continue the scheme,” said Dr Vijay Kapoor, Rajasthan’s private hospitals and nursing homes association.
Many of the beneficiaries and hospitals too claimed that surgeries and transplants that cost more than lakhs are not being accepted.
Nitesh Pareek, a resident of Kota claimed that his father who required treatment under neurologist was denied admission under Chiranjeevi scheme. “This happened two days ago…I was told at one of the private hospital that the scheme is not applicable for neurologists and didn’t admit my father who is 75 years of age,” Pareek said.
According to sources, the budget initially set by the government for covering the health schemes was at Rs 500 crore but it has now reached to Rs 3300 crore.
“The hospitals are also forging bills under the Chiranjeevi scheme and hence the government is taking time to clear the bills,” said an official.
Before going polls, the Congress government had announced in the manifesto that the health coverage amount under Chiranjeevi scheme will be raised from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.
