Probe Begins Into Mansarovar Crash That Killed Woman | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Jaipur police has launched an investigation after a truck ran over a 28-year-old woman in Mansarovar on Thursday evening. The family of the victim, Neelam Choudhary (28), alleged that two cops posted on traffic duty had abruptly waved at a truck to pull over due to which the truck veered off and hit the scooter.
“Prima facie it appears that cops did not stop the truck at that stretch. The investigation into the case is underway. The police are trying to find CCTV footage of the incident,” said an official.
The victim, Neelam Choudhary, a native of Jhunjhunu district, had come with her baby to Jaipur for medicines. She travelled on her sister’s scooter when a truck ran her over.
The family alleged that the cops were hiding behind the bushes and they jumped before the truck to stop it. The truck driver veered off and ran over the scooter. The police, however, said that allegations could not be substantiated yet and further probe is underway.
