Protest: State Electrical Tech Staff Protest, Demand Fulfilment Of 13-point | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The Rajasthan Electrical Technical Employees Association has initiated a protest near the CBI gate in Jagatpura to get its 13-point demands fulfilled. The ongoing demonstration has garnered the participation of hundreds of employees from across the state.
State president Prithviraj Gurjar emphasised the growing dissatisfaction among employees and officers due to obstacles in implementing the OPS (Old Pension Scheme) for personnel working in distribution companies (discoms). He said, “Despite the organisation’s repeated efforts to communicate their demands through memorandums and protests, neither the corporation administration nor the government have taken any decisive action, leading to the state-wide strike.”
The strike was marked by a Mahapadav (mass sit-in protest) and dharna (peaceful demonstration) that commenced on Monday. State vice presidents Ramprakash, DL Nagar, and state organisation minister conveyed that the strike would persist until the employees’ demands are acknowledged and addressed.
The association’s demands encompass several critical points, including rectification of pension disparities, inter-corporation transfers, and grade pay-related concerns for technical helper employees at Jaipur Discom.
Also, they demanded annulment of punitive measures taken against corporation employees affected by the December 2015 tool-down strike, as well as promotions for specified periods. The call for improved benefits for personnel and pensioners, including the implementation of the RGHS scheme and outdoor allowance parity with other state departments, is also included.
