Quality Of Life: Bjp Candidates Face Ire Of Councillors | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The nomination of Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari as BJP candidate from Vidyadhar Nagar has left sitting MLA Narpat Singh Rajvi red-faced.
Of the 44 municipal seats under the JMC-Greater in Vidyadhar Nagar, 27 have BJP councillors. Some councillors have not met the party candidate, raising speculation that they are siding with Rajvi.
Similarly, some mandal presidents in Jhotwara constituency have also not reported to the party’s candidate, Jaipur Rural MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.
“Rajvi Ji has always blessed us with his support and given us the opportunity to contest local elections. We feel that it is a great injustice done to an able leader who has a lot to offer to the people of Vidyadhar Nagar,” said one of the six councillors who is maintaining distance from the party’s candidate.
In Jhotwara, protest marches and gatherings are being held by supporters of Rajpal Singh Shekhawat almost every day since the name of Rathore was announced. “Some of those holding party positions have been identified as working for the rallies in favour of Shekhawat. They will be reached out to by the party,” said a BJP leader.
Former state BJP president Arun Chaturvedi, who is handling the dissidents, said, “I am sure that once the candidates file their nominations, those opposing them will bury their differences and campaign for them in the polls.”
