Question Paper Leaks: Youth Leader Who Took On Govt Over Paper Leaks Gets Bjp Ticket | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Youth leader and president of Rajasthan Berozgar Ekikrit Mahasangh, Upen Yadav, who has been a prominent voice against question paper leaks in Rajasthan, will fight the assembly polls on a BJP ticket from Shahpura constituency.
“I was offered a ticket by the Congress party as well. I didn’t accept it because question paper leaks in the state happened under their government,” said Yadav.
Yadav had been raising the issues of question paper leaks and recruitment in vacant government posts for the past five years. Demonstrations, sit-ins, fasts-unto-death and padyatras were the hallmark of his style of taking on the Gehlot government. “If I win, I will work towards making my constituency No. 1 in the state. Our (BJP) government will ensure strict action against the paper leak mafia. Senior leaders of the Congress and senior officials of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) were involved in paper leaks. No one will be spared,” said Yadav.
In November 2021, Yadav led a group of unemployed youths from Rajasthan and staged a protest over their long-pending demands outside the Uttar Pradesh Congress headquarters. In a bid to create pressure on the Gehlot government to resolve their long-pending issues, they demanded a meeting with Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi in Lucknow.
A CBI investigation into question paper leaks of Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers (REET) and sub-inspector recruitment exams was one of their 21 demands. They had threatened to organise a huge demonstration opposing Congress party during Gandhi’s rally in Uttar Pradesh.
In March 2022, the state assembly passed the Rajasthan Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill 2022 to mandate imprisonment up to 10 years and a fine of Rs 10 crore for offences such as recruitment exam paper leaks and cheating in recruitment exams.
