Rahul Gandhi: Congmen Court Arrest Over Rahul’s Disqualification | Jaipur News

Kota: Congress workers led by party’s Kota district president and party leader Amit Dhariwal began an aggressive protest against disqualification of party’s national leader Rahul Gandhi from Parliament at CAD circle on Saturday. The party workers offered voluntary arrest after the demonstration, meanwhile some of them climbed atop the police bus.
“At least 500 party workers, including women, offered voluntary arrest. The protest would be further intensified if a decision on disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as member of parliament was not revoked,” said district Congress president Ravinder Tyagi.
However, a senior district official said that around 300 party workers surrendered for voluntary arrest. Tyagi further alleged yjay an attempt was underway to trample the prominent leaders of the opposition in the country.
Referring to post emergency period, Tyagi said the then Prime Minister Morarji Desai in 1978 disqualified parliamentary membership of party leader Indira Gandhi and got her arrested, following which Jail Bharo Andolan was initiated across the country.
“The scenario is same and the party workers would offer voluntary arrest and Modi would have to bow down by revoking Rahul Gandhi’s membership in the parliament,” he said. Tyagi alleged that Modi (PM Narendra Modi) had captured all the constitutional institutions under his control and it appeared the nation was under undeclared emergency.
Congress leader and state Khadi Board vice president Pankaj Mehta, Naimuddin Guddu, Shivkant Nandwana along with hundreds of other party workers were present in the protest.
