Raj Employees Start Signature Drive As Ops Completes 1 Year | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: New Pension Scheme Employees Federation of Rajasthan (NPSEFR) started a signature campaign in the city on Friday over the delay in release of NPS funds amounting to Rs 41,000 crore by the central government.
A delegation of employees from various employees’ unions and associations met CM Ashok Gehlot at his residence on Friday and thanked him on completion of a year since the restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in the state. Gehlot said he has urged PM Narendra Modi to implement OPS in the entire country in the interest of the employees.
“The rules framed by the state government for OPS stand out in comparison to other states such as Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, which have decided to restore OPS,” said NPSEFR president Ravindra Verma.
NPSEFR convener Vinod Kumar said, “The employees and their families are very happy with the implementation of OPS (for employees appointed on and after January 1, 2004) and the reduction of the qualifying years of service from 28 to 25 for eligibility for full pension.”
Industry minister Shakuntala Rawat, MoS for home Rajendra Singh Yadav and state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra were also present at the CM’s residence during this meeting.
