Raj Exporters Strike Pharma, Auto Deals At Kenya Trade Expo | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Around 300 businessmen, mostly exporters, are showcasing their products to buyers in Kenya and other East African countries in the three-day Indo East Africa Trade Expo organised by industry body Federation of Rajasthan Trade and Industry (FORTI) and supported by Rajasthan Export Promotion Council (REPC).
FORTI president Suresh Agarwal said that many importers from Kenya and other East African countries are showing interest in the Indian state and that some have also signed contracts with the exporters from Rajasthan.
“Demand for pharma and automobile products have been standout. Exporters from Rajasthan are very excited about new opportunities in the country that depends heavily on India for imports,” added Agarwal.
Rajasthan is already exporting goods and services worth over Rs 500 crore to Kenya. Agarwal said the potential is very high and the expo, which started on Wednesday, would allow exporters to meet more buyers there and expand the volume of shipments.
This exhibition is unique in the sense that a trade body is taking a business delegation to a foreign country to promote exports and create new markets for them.
“We need to diversify our export markets so that all kinds of businesses find scope for exports. Additionally, if one market is not working for them, they have the option to go to other places,” added Agarwal.
