Raj Pins Great Hope On Gitb Expo To Attract Foreign Tourists | Jaipur News
Jaipur: State tourism minister Vishvendra Singh on Friday said that foreign tourists are a big part of Rajasthan’s tourism industry and after Covid, their movement has started but the numbers are yet to reach pre-pandemic levels.
Given the context, the minister said that the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) expo, whose mandate is to attract foreign tourists to the state, will play a significant role. He said over 280 major inbound foreign tour operators (FTOs) from 56 countries will participate as overseas buyers in the mega event.
The physical event will be held for the first time after a gap of three years. The state’s hotels, resorts, heritage properties, forest lodges, desert camps and sellers of various tourism experiences will showcase their products before the foreign tour operators.

Gayatri Rathore, principal secretary (Tourism), said, “There will be structured B2B meets between buyers and sellers. The state tourism department will showcase the Palace on Wheels, heritage properties, tourism infrastructure, etc. The tour operators from G-20 countries will also be present at the event.”
Rathore said the mart will witness 290 Indian exhibitors spanning 300 booths. “There will be 11,000 pre-scheduled, structured business-to-business meeting in two days. Following GITB, tour operators will be taken on a tour of Rajasthan to provide them a first-hand experience of the state’s various tourist attractions,” added Rathore.
Scheduled to be held in Jaipur from April-23-25, GITB is organized by the department of tourism, tourism ministry, and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). It is supported by leading national and regional associations like Hotel & Restaurant Association of Rajasthan (HRAR), IHHA and RATO.
