Raj rejigs boards in quick time as poll code of conduct kicks in | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The state government made several appointments to various commissions and boards immediately before the Election Commission (EC) announced the state assembly poll dates at Monday noon.
Two hours before the model code of conduct (MCC) came into force, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also approved seven big drinking water projects worth Rs 21,613 crore. The government appointed three members to the RPSC – professor Ayub Khan, Kailash Chand Meena and Colonel Kesari Singh. Dr Sajjan Poswal and Dr Ripunjaya Singh have been made members of the Staff Selection Board (SSB). Many joined their posts immediately after the order was issued. However, those who have not joined have to take permission from the EC now. In another order issued by the secretary of social justice and empowerment, Devendra Singh Butati was appointed as the chairman of the EWS commission and was asked to send a joining report before 12pm. tnn
Jaipur: In another move, chairman, vice-chairman and seven members were appointed to the Veer Tejaji Welfare Board. Veteran Congress leader Richpal Singh Mirdha, father of Congress MLA from Degana Vijaypal Mirdha, has been made the chairman of the board, and Dinesh Kaswan of Sikar the vice-chairman.
Riddhakaran Lomrod of Nagaur, Rajuram Chaudhary of Jodhpur, Ratanlal Ghasal of Surusara, Mohan Godara of Phalodi, Vijendra Poonia of Sikar, Rajkumar and Kaluram Jat have been made members of the board.
The government also appointed Rakesh Kumar Gupta as the chairman of the Rajasthan State Agrasen Welfare Board. Godram Dewasi of Raniwada and Sukhdev Dewasi of Jodhpur have been made the president and the vice-president of the Dairy Farm Welfare Board. Gumanaram Raika of Nagaur, Asuram Dewasi of Jalore, Umaid Singh Raibari of Jaipur, Pramaram Dewasi of Sirohi, Bhagirath Dewasi of Sojat and Bhanwar Dewasi are the board members. Mukesh Verma has been made the chairman of the Architecture Board.
The CM also approved the proposal to give 90% relaxation in monthly passes for female passengers in the roadways buses. Women will have to pay only 10% of the fixed amount for the monthly pass. The EC announced the elections at 12 noon.
“It is very clear any kind of transfers and appointments can’t be executed after the model code of conduct (MCC) comes into effect. Even if the appointment order has been issued in time before the EC press conference was going on, its compliance won’t be possible. With regard to transfers and appointments, they (the officials) cannot join without the permission of the commission,” Praveen Gupta, chief electoral officer, Rajatshan.
