Jaipur: Jaipur’s Jhotwara assembly constituency, from where BJP’s Rajyavardhan Rathore is contesting, has the highest number of candidates, at 18. Congress party’s Abhishek Choudhary is the main rival against Rathore in Jhothwara.
Bahujan Samaj Party’s Ashok Kumar Sharma and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party’s Jeewanram Jat are also in the fray Jhothwara seat.There are nine independent candidates fighting from the same seat. Pushkar and Rajgarh-Laxmangarh constituencies have 17 candidates each.
With the withdrawal of nominations, the final list of candidates has been released by the state’s election department. With just three candidates, Dausa’s Lalsot assembly has the lowest number of candidates in the state. In a triangular contest, sitting MLA and cabinet minister Parsadi Lal Meena will be fighting BJP’s Rambilas and Dwarka Prasad Meena from Lalsot seat.
In all, 1,875 candidates are contesting the forthcoming assembly polls in Rajasthan. The state’s election department on Friday released party-wise data of candidates. There are 737 independent candidates in the fray. BJP has fielded 200 candidates and Congress 199 for the assembly polls. While BSP will be fighting in 185 seats, RLP has fielded 78 candidates. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has fielded 86 candidates, Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) has 46 candidates, Bharat Adivasi Party 27, Jannayak Janta Party 20, Bharatiya Tribal Party 17, CPI-M 17, AIMIM 10, CPI 9, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) 9 and Samajwadi Party 5.

Telangana is set to witness a triangular contest between the BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and the Congress in the upcoming election on November 30. In the previous election in 2018, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi emerged as the winner with 88 seats.
