Rajasthan Bjp News: BJP leader Abhishek Singh has lost his election ticket over rumours he Is muslim | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: BJP leader Abhishek Singh (40) is yet to emerge from the shock of losing his election ticket over a controversy of him being not a Hindu but a Muslim.
His name was declared in the BJP’s fifth list of candidates on November 5, but it was followed by a call late in the evening that his ticket had been put on hold. The next morning, on the last day of nomination, the BJP declared Virendra Singh Kanawat as its candidate.
Reports claiming Singh belonged to a clan that follows Islam had gone viral on social media in the region. The BJP has not yet mentioned the reason for replacing him.
Singh is now receiving calls from village Panchs and members of his Rawat-Rajput community expressing shock, anger, and disbelief.
“I am Rawat-Rajput, the descendent of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. It is an insult to equate me with or term me as a Muslim. Based on misleading reports on social media that I belong to the Cheetah-Mehraat community, which follows Islam, I lost my ticket,” said Singh.
He added that he was consulting lawyers about filing a case against those who termed him as from another religion.
“My Kuldevi is Mata Ashapura, and I am an ardent believer in Lord Shiva. My forefathers were descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan. I will take strict legal action against those who did this propaganda against me,” said Singh.
Singh joined the BJP in 2019 during the Lok Sabha elections when BJP candidate at the time, Diya Kumari, asked him to do so.
The BJP has not even given him a call since telling him that his election ticket had been put on hold, Singh said.
