Ban Plastic, Metallic Manjha: Govt To Dcs | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Continuing its order based on the directions of Rajasthan High Court issued on August 22, 2012, the home department in an advisory issued on Monday asked all the district collectors to ensure no kite flying is allowed between 6am to 8am and 5pm to 7pm. The department has asked the district collectors to ban the use of plastic and metallic manjha.
In districts, including Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu and in Jaipur, police have already started a campaign against plastic and synthetic manja. The department had issued an advisory referring to the orders of the high court and stated that if anyone is found flying kites during restricted time, he may be arrested.
“On Monday, when we had arrested a trader and had seized nearly 480 charkee from Subash Chowk police station area, we had also booked him under Section 336 which is for the act endangering life or personal safety of others of IPC. We are booking the traders selling banned manjha under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) which is disobeying government orders,” said Dharmendra Sagar, additional DCP (north).
He added that this is the biggest crackdown as good quantity of charkee were seized. “This will work as deterrent to demoralise others selling metallic and plastic manjha,” Sagar added.
It may be recalled that in the cities including Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu and in Jaipur people so far have seized injuries after been trapped by manjha while driving.
