Rajasthan cops seize 9kg heroin worth Rs 35 crore from international border, 4 held | Jaipur News
The consignment had been smuggled into India via Pakistan through drones and is estimated to be worth nearly Rs 35 crore in the market. Police also seized a camper used for smuggling the narcotics.

DGP Umesh Mishra said that a crime branch team had been keeping a watch on the international border for some time, especially in Jaisalmer and Barmer districts. “It came to their notice that a haul of high-quality heroin was smuggled into India…(following which) our team arrested four persons identified as Amar Lal Bhadu, Ramchandra Bishnoi, Jogendra Singh and Madhav Singh. It was learnt that the heroin was to be smuggled from Jaisalmer into various parts of Rajasthan and outside,” said DGP Mishra. “Around 500gm each (of heroin) was seized from Bhadu and Bishnoi respectively, and later Jogindra Singh was arrested with 8kg heroin,” he added.

The operation began on Sunday evening under the supervision of DIG (crime) Rahul Prakash.
“The arrests and seizures were made after two separate actions by the joint team of crime branch and Jaisalmer police,” said Prakash.
Additional DG (crime) Dinesh MN stated that the crime branch had been monitoring the activities of narcotics smugglers in western Rajasthan.
“We received a specific input after the delivery came from Pakistan that the local smugglers were planning to supply it to other districts of Rajasthan and also Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi,” he said, adding that more arrests may follow.
