Rajasthan: Covid positivity rate falls, 389 deaths so far this year | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Covid positivity rate in the state dipped to 15.3% in the past seven days (Jan 29-Feb 4) from 20.9% a week earlier (from Jan 22-28). Health department officials said the decrease in positivity rate showed that the pace at which the virus was spreading had slowed down a bit in the past seven days.
However, the state continued to report more than 20 deaths daily for the past 12 days. In past seven days (Jan 29-Feb 4), the state reported 151 deaths, up from 143 deaths a week earlier. The mortality rate has increased to 0.27% in past seven days from 0.18% (from Jan 22-28).
The number of samples collected for Covid test has also been reducing. From January 15-21, 4.45 lakh samples were collected, 3.76 lakh (Jan 22-28) and 3.62 lakh (Jan 29-Feb 4).
In 35 days (from January 1 to February 4), the state reported 389 Covid deaths and 2.78 lakh persons tested positive. The mortality rate remained at 0.14%, while positivity rate remained at 14.5%.
The state reported 5,937 new cases in the past 24 hours taking the overall tally to 12,35,071. In all, 21 persons died taking the toll to 9,353. Active cases in the state decreased from 59,513 to 54,869. Jaipur reported 942 Covid while active cases reduced from 14,979 to 13,846 in the past 24 hours.
Six deaths were reported from Jaipur, three from Kota while two deaths each from Ajmer, Jodhpur, Karauli, and one death each was reported from Nagaur, Barmer,Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bikaner and Dausa.
In 24 hours, the number of persons recovered fromcovid-19 were 10,560.
