Lab Technicians End Dharna After Officials’ Assurances | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Agitating laboratory technicians of government hospitals called off their sit-in dharna at Shaheed Smarak on Monday after their representatives held a meeting with state government officials.
“They have assured us that our demands would be fulfilled. We will return to work on Tuesday,” said Mahesh Saini, spokesperson of All Rajasthan Lab Technician Employees’ Union (ARLTEU). The lab technicians would launch a state-wide protest if their demands were not fulfilled, he added.
ARLTEU functionaries said their demands have been pending for several years. The demands include hike in grade pay from Rs 2,800 to Rs 4,200, increase of other allowances and a designation revision. Lab technicians from across the state participated in dharna.
The state president of ARLTEU and five members of the executive committee were called by the Chief Minister’s Office for talks regarding their demands. “The talks ended on a positive note. We have been assured that immediate action would be taken on our demands,” said Saini.
