Rajasthan logs 26th Covid death in 20 days, hospitals on alert | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: One Covid patient died and 669 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in the state, according to official figures released on Thursday.
The death toll has risen to 26 in the past 20 days, while 13 infected persons have died in the past seven days and 3,422 persons have tested positive for the virus.
Jaipur reported the most cases among all districts with 108, followed by Bharatpur (92), Nagaur (59), Chittorgarh (53), Bikaner (51), Udaipur (45) and Sikar (44), while 217 persons tested positive in 17 other districts.
Nine districts did not report even a single case, among them Baran, Barmer, Churu, Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Jalore, Karauli, Kota and Tonk.
The active cases increased from 3,201 to 3,523 in the state in 24 hours, while 346 persons were declared as recovered from Covid-19.
In Jaipur, the active cases have increased to 945, which has prompted hospitals to issue an alert. City hospitals have started conducting Covid tests before admitting patients. Though the health department has not issued any revised or new guidelines, hospitals are taking safety and precautionary measures. A private hospital’s senior administrative officer said, “We are conducting Covid-19 tests of patients before admission to the hospital to ensure that if they are tested positive, they are admitted to isolation wards.”
The health department said that in the past 24 hours, 10,652 samples for tests were collected in the state.
