Rajasthan logs 300 fresh Covid cases, 3 deaths in 24 hours | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Three persons died of Covid-19 in 24 hours in the state bringing toll to 9,585.
State’s 21% Covid-19 deaths in three months and two days (May, June, July and two days of August), happened in just three days. Two persons each died on July 31, August 1 and three died on August 2.
The state has witnessed marginal spike in Covid-19 deaths. Since May 1, the state reported 33 Covid-19 deaths, out of those seven died in three days.
However, health department officials pointed out that those who have died either belonged to 60+ category or they were having comorbidities.
Out of the three deaths happened, two died in Sriganganagar and one died in Kota. A senior health department official said, “In Sriganganagar, a 67-year-old died who had paralysis and meningitis and 70-year-old person died due to Covid-19 had chronic kidney disease. They were undergoing treatment on ventilator support.”
He said, “A 49-year-old person died in Kota was suffering from tuberculosis. He was also tested positive and died of the disease.”
Besides, 300 persons were tested positive for the virus in 24 hours, bringing state’s overall tally to 12,94,875. Also, 217 persons were declared as recovered from the virus in 24 hours. The active cases have increased from 2,008 to 2,088, adding 80 more cases in 24 hours. Active cases in Jaipur have also increased from 602 to 648.
In 24 hours, Jaipur reported 106 new infections, which were highest in the state, followed by Alwar (27), Bikaner (24), Dausa (19), Jodhpur (16), Udaipur (16), Jaisalmer (15), Bhilwara (12), Nagaur (11) and rest of the districts reported 54 new Covid-19 cases.
