Rajasthan on alert as Covid positivity rate in Delhi touches 5% | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot has directed health department officials to scale up vaccination and sampling as the corona positivity rate in Delhi has touched 5%. Meanwhile, despite a marginal increase in Covid cases, the positivity rate is just 0.4% in the state.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot reviewed the Covid-19 pandemic situation with health department officials on Thursday.
After the meeting, he tweeted, “While reviewing the Covid pandemic, said in some states cases have again started increasing. In the state too, precautions should be taken. Directions have been given to pay special focus on vaccination in the state.”
He further tweeted, “People should be vaccinated with both the doses, along with that, give pace to booster dose vaccination. RTPCR negative report should be made mandatory for travellers from other countries. Also, in crowded places, mask and social distancing should be maintained.”
The state reported 14 cases on Thursday bringing the overall tally to 12,83,265. No death was reported.
The state’s toll stands at 9,552. The active cases have decreased from 129 to 122 in 24 hours, while 21 persons were recovered from Covid-19.
At RUHS hospital too, the officials have started witnessing Covid-19 cases. “In the past two to three days, we have found some corona patients who complained of upper respiratory tract infection,” said Dr Ajit Singh, superintendent at RUHS hospital.
Apart from seven districts, the other districts do not have any active cases. The state has 122 active cases in seven districts, out of which 106 are in Jaipur.
Out of 14 cases reported in 24 hours, 12 were found infected in Jaipur, while one case each was reported from Ajmer and Jodhpur.
Besides, 44,429 doses of Covid-19 were administered till 5.30pm on Thursday.
