Rajasthan panchayat poll results to be announced today | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The counting of votes for the three phases of elections for zila parishad and panchayat samiti members in six districts will be held on Saturday.
The counting will start from 9 am at the district headquarters. Meanwhile, 59.05% turnout was recorded after re-polling on Friday in one ward of Jalsu panchayat samiti (Jaipur), two polling stations of Jodhpur’s Luni panchayat samiti and one polling station of Pipad City panchayat samiti.
An overall turnout of 64.40 per cent was recorded in all the three phases. The elections were held for 200 zila parishad members, 1564 panchayat samiti members, six district pramukhs and deputy district pramukhs and 78 pradhans and Up-pradhans. Out of these, 1 Zila Parishad member and 26 panchayati samiti members have been elected unopposed. The elections were held in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa and Sirohi districts.
State election commissioner P S Mehra said that elaborate security arrangements have been made at polling booths and its surrounding areas for the counting of votes. He said that victory processions, rallies and public meetings by the winning candidates are strictly prohibited.
