3 Suspects Including 2 Gunmen Recced City Hotel Exit & Entry Points For Quick Escape | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The three suspects, who fired at the Days Hotel on Saturday night, had arrived here the same day to recce extensively around the hotel.
A senior police officer said the three suspects, including the two gunmen, had arrived here from different cities. “The suspects did not have much information about the city, so they travelled on a bike to Jaipur on Saturday morning to get familiarised with local conditions,” the official added.
Police said the accused moved around the Airport Plaza near Jawahar Circle to select all possible entry and exit routes.
They chose an intersection near the hotel as a place to park their bike and decided that two gunmen would walk up to the hotel, fire quickly and flee after dropping a warning letter for the owner to cough up Rs 1 crore.
From Saturday afternoon, the accused began to circle around the Days Hotel. They wanted to ensure they could flee quickly after firing.
“We have found that the accused first parked their bike at a secluded place and from there they walked around the Days Hotel till afternoon,” the official added.
Police said the accused waited for the hotel’s owner to arrive. After 11.30 pm, once the hotelier enters the building, the accused parked their bike at an intersection and rushed towards the gate.
They took position behind a sliding gate with a clear view of the reception and dining lounge about 25 metres away. They fired quickly and in tandem as the guests and hotel staff ducked for cover under tables and sofas.
Initial probe indicated that the accused wanted to break through the sliding gate but it was tightly shut. “We cannot rule out the possibility that the accused wanted to enter the hotel with firearms. They were kicking the gate and trying to open it but failed,” the official said.
