Rajasthan: Teacher jailed for molesting girl students, suspended | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: A day after arresting a 56-year-old teacher of a government school situated in Sawai Madhopur for allegedly outraging the modesty of girl students of the school, a local court sent the accused to judicial custody on Tuesday.
He was suspended on Monday evening after an FIR under appropriate sections of IPC and POCSO Act was lodged against him.
According to police, the accused teacher (police wished not to name him to conceal the identity of the girls who complained against him) behaved indecently with many school girls.
“On Monday, the girls invited their parents at the school to apprise them of the incident. Parents in protest also blocked the Sawai Madhopur-Kota mega highway. Our team reached the school and arrested the accused on charges of outraging the modesty of girls,” said Ravanjana Dungar SHO Puran Meena.
The girls in their complaint also alleged that the teacher was inappropriately touching them for a long time.
The SHO added that a case under section 354 (Outraging modesty) of IPC and other appropriate sections of POCSO Act was lodged. “The statements of the girl have also been recorded,” Meena added.
