The campaigning ended Thursday evening in Rajasthan, but for the candidates, at least in Jaipur, there was no rest. From rallies, roadshows and door-to-door meetings, they had to dash straight to wedding pandals. With at least 10,000 weddings planned in the city on the occasion of Devuthani Ekadashi, most of the candidates, including Independents, had received multiple invites. And, in poll season, there was no way they would excuse themselves from fulfilling such “social obligation”.
