Rape: Man Gets 20 Yrs In Jail For Raping Minor Niece | Jaipur News

Kota: A Pocso court in Jhalawar on Wednesday convicted a 31-year-old man of rape of a minor and sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 50,000.
Public prosecutor Ramhetar Gurjar at Pocso court-I in Jhalawar said that the convict had raped his 12-year-old niece while her parents were away on May 15, 2022, in Jhalawar city police station area.
Gurjar said that the parents of the girl initially did not lodge a report with police as the accused was a family member, but when the girl narrated her ordeal to her maternal uncle, he took her to the police station and lodged a case on May 24, 2022.
Police registered a case under sections of IPC and Pocso Act and arrested him, Gurjar said, adding that the accused was since then in judicial custody.
