Rape: Three Get 20 Yrs In Jail For Raping 14-yr-old Girl In Jhalawar Dist In 2020 | Jaipur News

Kota: A POCSO court in Jhalawar on Thursday convicted three persons to 20 years imprisonment in jail for gangrape of a 14-year-old girl in a village under Pagaria police station in Jhalawar district three years ago in May 2020. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 65,000 on them.

POCSO court -1 in Jhalawar city on Thursday sentenced Pappu Singh (32), Narayan Singh (29) and Govindlal Meghwal (22), all residents of Atkhedi village under Pagaria police station to 20 years imprisonment in jail for gangrape of a minor girl in May 2020, said public prosecutor at POCSO court – 1 Ramhetar Gurjar.
The minor survivor, along with her parents lodged a case of gangrape againstthe three acusedl in Pagaria police station on June 1, 2020, he said, adding the minor alleged the three persons abducted her while she was out in the filed for urination a night before on May 30, 2020 and took her to a field, where each of the three took turn to rape her and eventually dropped her at a roadside eatery next early morning. Police lodged a case under 363, 376 (3) of IPC and sections of POCSO Act and arrested the three accused after initial investigation on June 11, 2020, the PP said.

The POCSO court judge Vinod Kumar Giri on Thursday held Pappu Singh, Narayan Singh and Govindlal guilty of abduction and gang rape under sections of IPC and POCSO Act and convicted each of the three to 20 years jail and lashed fine of Rs 65,000 each, he further said.
Statements of at least 33 witnesses were recorded during the trail and 44 documents were produced before the court, he added.
