Rathore Accuses Congress Rival: Rathore accuses Congress rival of attacking aide in Churu Jaipur | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: BJP’s Taranagar candidate Rajendra Singh Rathore on Friday accused his Congress rival Narendra Budania of attacking and attempting to kidnap his election in-charge, Sushil Swarogi, in his factory at the RIICO industrial area in the constituency in Churu district.
Rathore said the alleged incident that happened a day before the polls was an attempt to disrupt peace and harmony during the polling on Saturday. After a post surfaced on social media alleging that BJP was using malpractice to lure voters, Budania and his supporters rushed to Swarogi’s factory accompanied by a police team. As the news spread quickly, Rathore also rushed to the factory with his supporters.
“Police entered the factory and allowed the Congress workers to assault and kidnap Swarogi. Even his partner, Radhey Shyam, was beaten up by the Congress workers. The police team, being mute spectators for Congress workers, misbehaved with BJP workers. It is all done as the Congress candidate is aware that he cannot win the polls. So he is targeting BJP to spread fear among the voters to not come out for voting,” said Rathore.
Refuting Rathore’s allegations, Congress candidate Budania said on his official Facebook account, “Fearing defeat, the leaders of the Opposition party and their supporters, including gangsters, tried to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of Taranagar. Nobody was beaten up by the Congress workers.”
A police official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said information was received about some allegedly illegal activity going on at an outlet in Taranagar, following which the local DSP, SDM and SHO reached the scene. A search of the factory was undertaken, but nothing illegal was found, he added.
