Flood Control Rooms Set Up At 54 Dams | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Following a review meeting in Jaipur, officials of the water resources department had set up flood control rooms at 54 major dams in the state.

The decision was taken following an information that out of the 690 major and minor dams in the state, 114 dams are either full or overflowing. In another 278 dams water level has reached more than 4.25 MCM.
“Till July 18, 288.55 mm of rainfall has been received, which is 72 percent more than the average of 167 mm during monsoons till this time. Mount Abu has recorded the highest rainfall of 1418 mm this year. The maximum rainfall of 530 mm was received in Muthana in Pali district in a single day. This is the reason behind why there is excessive water in the dams of Rajasthan,” said an official.

This information was given in the review meeting held in the conference hall of IGNP building on Friday under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Water Resources and IGNP Dr. Subodh Agarwal. tnn
