Repair And Rehab Work To Cost Raj Around 800-1k Crore | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The state disaster management department has estimated a cost of around Rs 800-1,000 crore for the reconstruction work in 11 districts due to the damage caused by Cyclone Biparjoy, said department secretary P C Kishan on Monday.
According to preliminary assessment, 8,700 kutcha houses have been completely damaged and 35,000 houses partially damaged. The survey is going on in all districts and the final figure will be given later, said Kishan.
The five worst-affected districts are Jalore, Sirohi, Pali, Barmer and Rajsamand. Other districts include Ajmer, Tonk, Dholpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur and Jodhpur. Around 500-750 school buildings were damaged in 11 districts.
According to estimates, it would take Rs 400 crore to repair damaged roads in these districts.
Affected families will be given Rs 4 lakh for the death of a member, Rs 2.5 lakh for those who suffered over 60% injuries, and Rs 74,000 for those with 40 to 60% injuries in the calamity. For damaged houses in plains, the government will give a compensation of Rs 1.2 lakh to each family and Rs 1.3 lakh to those for the same in hilly areas. Similarly, Rs 8,000 will be given as compensation to families for damaged huts, Rs 3,000 for damaged cattle sheds.
For the death of cows, buffaloes and camels, etc, the compensation will be Rs 37,500 for each animal, while Rs 32,000 will be given for the death of horses, bulls, the department said.
