Research: Gangster’s Illegal Structure In Keoladeo Eco Zone Razed | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Bharatpur police, in a joint action with the local administration and forest department, demolished a gangster‘s illegal structure in the ecologically sensitive zone of the Keoladeo National Park on Tuesday.

SP (Bharatpur) Mridul Kachawa said that the police had identified the illegal property of criminal Shera Pehlawan, who was involved in the murder of Kuldeep Jaghina.
“The accused had illegally constructed a structure near Sheesham Chowrah on the NH-21 of the district which is an area classified under the forest department’s ecological sensitive zone,” Kachawa told TOI.

A joint team of the forest department and civic authorities reached the area, and they were escorted by a strong police contingent at 6 am.
The team demolished the structure, and the land was subsequently taken over by the civic authorities and placed under their control.
“It is important to underline that Pehlawan and his accomplices illegally grabbed government land, which is earmarked as an eco-sensitive zone, despite there being a court stay on the property. Moreover, he had begun constructing walls around the property and was also putting up tin shades over it,” he said.
Kachawa said that the demolition was part of an ongoing effort of the Rajasthan police to curb turf wars over properties between rival gangs.
The police authorities in Bharatpur have also initiated a unique measure by identifying disputed properties in order to take control of them. The police stated that all such lands would be temporarily placed under the control of the police and administration to prevent gangs from encroaching upon them.
He said that a team of the district police then launched a surprise check and search operation inside the Sevar Central Jail with the help of local administration.
“Each cell and barrack was thoroughly searched during the operation,” he said.
