Revise Labour Budget For Nrega Payments | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The state’s rural development and panchayati raj department has urged the Centre to revise the labour budget for MGNREGA scheme.
The current labour budget of 24 crore for the financial year 2022-23 has already been exhausted, according to the MGNREGA portal.
The state has so far generated persondays of 26.58 crore, the portal stated.
“We have requested the centre to revise the labour budget for the ongoing financial year. Moreover, a meeting has been fixed with the government of India officials to revise it,” said Manju Rajpal, secretary, rural development department.
Unless the labour budget is revised by the Centre, the payment of labourers under the scheme will not be released.
Looking at the performance of the state, Rajasthan had topped thrice consecutively (from 2018-19 to 2021-22) in terms of persondays generation under MGNREGA.
However, looking at the slashed budget under the scheme for the year 2022-23, the state may generate a little over 30 crore this year.
