Rhb Set To Impose Penalties On Visitors For Littering, Damaging Properties At City Park | Jaipur News
Jaipur: A day after beginning the levying of an entry fee for visitors to City Park at Mansarovar, Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) now plans to announce penalties for a range of unwanted activities such as damage to properties and littering.
“We are going to impose a penalty of Rs 1,000 if any visitor damages any sculpture, plants or any equipment at the park. A fine of Rs 50 would be imposed on visitors spotted littering plastic bottles, polythene packets or garbage while in the park,” said housing commissioner Pawan Arora.
City Park, one of the popular destinations for city residents seeking recreation, was inaugurated on October 21 last by CM Ashok Gehlot. While there were no entry fees initially, RHB decided to start a ticketing system after a few sculptures and plants were damaged by unscrupulous visitors, said officials.
The authorities started issuing both offline and online tickets to visitors on Thursday. Each entry ticket costs Rs 20, and entry is free for children below 12 years, and morning walkers between 6am and 9am.
RHB officials said 5,150 entry tickets were sold on the first day. “It shows there is no dearth of visitors even after we started charging an entry fee. This has, however, deterred unwanted visitors to a great extent,” said an official.
Most parks in the city such as Ramniwash Bagh, Smriti Van and Jaldhara charge entry fees ranging from Rs 30 to Rs 50.
