Rpl: Rpl To Start From August 19 | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Realising the aim to provide a platform for the state players to exhibit their skill and talent, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) is all set to roll the inaugural edition of the T20 Rajasthan Premier League (RPL) on August 19. The announcement was made by RCA president Vaibhav Gehlot on Monday evening.

One of the top tasks in president Vaibhav’s checklist has finally been ticked off. Underscoring the highlights of the league, he said, “Trial camps will be organised by every District Cricket Association (DCA) and three players from each district will be included along with other players.The first match of RPL will be held in Jodhpur at Barkatullah Khan Stadium while the final will be played in Jaipur at SMS Stadium. RPL will be held on the lines of Indian Premier League (IPL).”
The tournament will conclude on September 8, RCA joint secretary Rajesh Badhana said.

There will be six teams – Jaipur, Jodhpur, Sikar, Kota, Udaipur and Bhilwara which will play 34 matches at the two venues. “We have allotted 19 matches to SMS Stadium and 15 matches to Barkatullah Khan Stadium,” the president said.
International players from the state will also be a part of RPL and RCA has written to them, requesting their availability for theT20 league. Though there are doubts about seamer Deepak Chahar’s participation given he is not full fit, RCA secretary Bhawani Shankar Samota said, “Deepak has given his yes. Rahul Chahar, Khaleel Ahmed and Deepak Hooda will also play,” said Samota.
