RTE admissions start in Rajasthan, applications till April 10 | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The admission process in schools under Right to Education (RTE) started on Wednesday and the application portal will remain open till April 10. After the application process is over, the lottery for selected students will be released on April 12. This is the first time that admissions in the state will be done under RTE from pre-primary to class-1 in private schools.
According to the notification, private schools will not be able to reject any applications. Anyone whose annual family income is less than Rs 2.50 lakh is eligible to apply under RTE. Apart from this, SC, ST, orphan children, HIV and cancer affected children or children of such guardians, war widows, disabled children, children of BPL can also apply. There are about 40,000 private schools registered on the RTE portal in Rajasthan where eligible applicants can apply.
For nursery, a child must be 3 years or more, but less than 4 years; for LKG a child must be 3 years 6 months or more but less than 5 years; for UKG the child must be 4 years 6 months or more but less than 6 years.
