Rth: Govt Starts Framing Rth Act Rules | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The state government has started internal meetings to formulate rules for Right To Health (RTH) Act implementation.
Since Rajasthan is the first state to implement RTH Act, the state government will formulate rules so that maximum people benefit from it. “Rules are under formulation. Internal discussions are happening,” T Ravikanth, principal secretary, medical education department told TOI.
After internal meetings, the state government will consider suggestions of other stakeholders. Rules are important for effective implementation of the Act.
Since private hospitals and the state had signed MoU to end the protest by private hospitals, the conditions in MoU also need to be fulfilled.
Chief secretary Usha Sharma has already held a meeting and delegated different departments to fulfil the conditions for MoU’s implementation.
One of the key points in the RTH Act is to ensure that private hospitals will not charge emergency patients, for this the state will compensate hospitals. However, how many private hospitals will come under RTH ambit is to be decided.
Private hospitals are also keeping a close watch on the formulation of rules .
