Rth: Health Min Meena Junks Docs’ Demand To Roll Back Rth Bill | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Health minister Parsadi Lal Meena on Tuesday flatly refused to accept the demand of agitating private hospital doctors of ‘rolling back’ the Right To Health (RTH) bill. The doctors have been on strike for the past 10 days against the bill.
“It is a law which has been prepared for the people and by people’s representatives. Private hospital doctors do not have any right to protest against it,” said Meena.
The health minister was reacting on the protest of doctors which has been continuing for the past 10 days in the state.
Two days ago, the doctors met state government’s representatives headed by chief secretary Usha Sharma to talk over RTH bill. But, the doctors had strongly demanded one-line agenda of ‘rolling back the RTH bill’ and ‘no to RTH bill.’
The meeting ended without any result. But, the government is ready for talks with doctors to resolve the issues for the benefit of the patients.
“The doors of the government are open for talks. The government is ready for talks anytime. If there is any demand of the doctors for making amendment in the bill, we can incorporate it. We don’t have any objection in it. But, they don’t have a right to say – withdraw the RTH bill. If they have any suggestion, we are always ready for it,” said Meena.
Meena strongly made it clear that the government will never drag its feet on RTH bill. “The law will be implemented in the state and everyone has to follow it. This law will be implemented at any cost.”
