Rth: Pvt Docs Meet Cm On Rth Bill, Hopeful Of A Solution Emerging Within Two Days | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Protesting over Right to Health (RTH) Bill, private hospital doctors along with representatives of government doctors met chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday, which is being seen as an attempt to end the deadlock between the agitating doctors and the state government.
The doctors looked satisfied after the meeting with Gehlot who are hopeful that within a couple of days their grievances will be resolved, but they are yet to call off their protest and will continue boycott of state government’s health schemes.
CM heard the doctors’ suggestions and objections related to the provisions of RTH Bill for 30 minutes. “He (CM) heard us and assured us that our issues will be resolved. He has appointed chief secretary Usha Sharma and IAS officer Akhil Arora for holding meeting with us for resolving the issues on RTH Bill,” said Dr Sunil Chugh, chairperson, joint action committee against RTH.
Dr Chugh said that they have demanded that the government should withdraw the RTH Bill and bring a new bill replacing the old one against which they have been protesting for past few days.
Among those who met CM were Jaipur Medical Association (JMA) president Dr Tarun Ojha, JMA secretary Dr Anurag Sharma, All Rajasthan In Service Doctors Association president Dr Ajay Chaudhary, Dr Dhananjai Agarwal president Rajasthan Medical College Teachers’ Association, Dr Vijay Kapoor secretary private hospitals and nursing homes society and other representatives of doctors’ associations.
Dr Anurag Sharma, JMA secretary, said, “Our joint action committee will plan for the meeting with chief secretary and other government officials nominated by the CM for the talks.” The doctors pointed out that once their problems will be resolved, they will call off their protest. Recently, a delegation of doctors met governor Kalraj Mishra to apprise him of their reservations on RTH Bill.
