RUHS: Jaipuria Hosp Doctors Are Reluctant To Join Ruhs Despite Transfer | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Many of the medical staff working in Rukmani Devi Beni Prasad Jaipuria Hospital are showing hesitancy to join Rajasthan University of Health Services College of Medical Sciences despite having official transfer order.
As per officials, around 20 medical staff including assistant professors and senior doctors are reluctant to go to the RUHS since the hospital doesn’t see patients coming there.
Despite having being built at a cost of more than Rs. 700 crores and having modern equipment, the hospital has not been able to fully utilise its available resources due to dearth of doctors. The operation theater not being able to function and patients not being admitted in the ICU is the lack of doctors and staff.
The hospital was handed over the responsibility of handling Jaipuria hospital last year.
Sources said that officials from RUHS have been trying to pursue doctors and have also been writing them to shift. The hospital currently has 300 ICU beds and 400 general beds and only one OT out of five runs.
A team from TOI had visited the RUHS hospital recently only to find that even during OPD time, the corridors of the hospital were empty with countable patients present. Whereas, the same hospital remained fully occupied during the two years of pandemic.
As per officials, the recruitment process has started at RUHS college of medical sciences and efforts have also been made to run RUHS smoothly. Recently, the hospital announced hiring of assistant professors of Cardiology, Urology, Nephrology, Neurology. Apart from this, there will also be recruitment for two posts each in Gastro, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Nephrology.
